MACS and Hagerstown Announce $90,000 32nd Annual Hub-City Purse for 2006 |

The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series and Lisa Bragunier, General Manager of Frank Plessinger’s Hagerstown Speedway are proud to announce the purse for the 32nd Annual Hub-City event for Friday and Saturday, September 22 & 23.
Under the steady, insightful direction of Bragunier the Speedway has been working in conjunction with the Series event coordinator, Jeff Geesey, forging the purse for 2006 which is a record offering for this event at the “Capitol”.
The event will roll out with the following format. Friday drivers will draw pills setting the time trail order. Currently, six heats are planned and will follow Series procedures by inverting the fastest four cars in each heat with all other drivers lining up linearly filling out the balance of each heat event.
From the heat finishing positions; first (1) and third (3) will advance to the first dash on Saturday while positions second (2) and fourth (4) advance to second dash Saturday. Heat finishing positions fifth (5) and seventh (7) go to Saturday’s first 50-lap Qualifier while heat finishing positions sixth (6) and eighth (8) advances to second 50-lap Qualifier.
Drivers finishing in heat positions ninth (9) though twelfth (12) will be placed in Friday’s King’s Jewelry’s “Last Chance Qualifiers” race presented by ARTCARVED. The winner will go to Saturday Sunoco Race Fuels, first 50-lap qualifier presented by Bazell Race Fuels while second place driver advancing to the Goddard Performance Parts second 50-lap qualifier presented by Warrior Chassis. MACS Provisionals will fill the 26th starting spots in each of the Twin-50 Qualifiers.
Saturday’s program will feature the Twin, twelve car, 12-lap Malcuit Racing Engines Dashes presented by Wild Side Custom Racing Trailers. Drivers will draw for their starting spots in the dashes with all the heat winners drawing for the top 6 spots in the first dash while the second place finishers drawing for the top six spots in the second dash. Third place heat finishers will draw for positions 7-12 in the first dash while fourth place heat finishers will draw for 7-12 in the second dash. How the drivers finish in their respective dashes will determine the top six rows in each of the 50-lap Qualifiers.
The top twelve drivers from each of the 50-lap Qualifiers will advance to the finale presented by Bud Watson’s W& W Racing Supplies, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic 50-lap segment. The Sunoco Race Fuels 50-lap Qualifier top twelve will receive the inside row starting spots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23; while the top 12 from the Goddard Performance Parts 50-lap Qualifier will inherit positions 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24. The final two spots will be awarded to the top MACS and Hagerstown drivers all ready not in the show. The top MACS driver not in the show will occupy 25th while the top Hagerstown provisional will start 26th.

Additionally all drivers failing to qualify for one of the 50-lap events will receive $150.00 for their efforts.
Ticket pricing for the two-days are as follows. Friday’s General Admission is $15.00, with reserved seats costing $20.00 and Pit admission $20.00. Saturday’s General Admission is $30.00 with both Pits and Reserved seating at $35.00. Racing is slated to begin each day at 7:00 p.m.
