Nearly $85,000 Up For Grabs July 1st and 2nd at MACS Events at Portsmouth Raceway Park |

The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series has a huge $85,000 pre-July 4th weekend slated for the Coleman families’ Portsmouth Raceway Park, Portsmouth, OH. Saturday night, July 1 is the first day of two separate, one-night programs dubbed the “Nifty Fifty”.
Portsmouth is an immaculate facility that houses a spacious 3/8 mile, high-banked clay oval residing along the picturesque Ohio River in historic Portsmouth. This is a 50 lap show paying $5,000 to-win from the $31,500 purse. Also on the card are the Modifieds (E-Mods) paying $650 to-win and the Bomber’s paying $450 to-win.
“Nifty Fifty” purse: 1. $5,000; 2. $2,500; 3. $1,500; 4. $1,250; 5. $1,150; 6. $1,100; 7 $1,050; 8. $1,000 9. $900; 10. $800 11.$700; 12. $600; 13. $575; 14. $550; 15. $525; 16. $520; 17. $515; 18. $510; 19. $505; 20. $500; 21. $500; $500; 22. $500; 23. $500; 24.$500. All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00.
Saturday’s ticket prices are: General Admission for ages 16 & up: $20; 12 – 15 years old $5; 7-11 $2; 6 & under are free of charge. Pit admission fee is $25.
Sunday dawns day two of the weekend featuring another complete MACS show that will climax with the “Firecracker 75” A Main paying $10,000 to-win from the $53,000 purse. Also appearing will be the Limited Late Models paying $600 to-win and Modifieds (E-Mods) will be back for their second nihgt of action paying $700 to-win. Also a 5:00-6:00 p.m. will be a MACS Late Model driver autograph session in the main grandstand area. The fast qualifier for the show will receive a $200 gift certificate from Genesis Shocks courtesy of Mike Farr and Mike Lutz.

Gates open both days at 4:00 p.m. with warm-ups slated for 6:30 p.m. followed by time trials at 7:00 p.m. with racing immediately following. Portsmouth’s super late models competition has a who’s who in southern Ohio and northern Kentucky competitors including Jackie Boggs; R.J. Conley; Barry Bragdon; Aaron Bapst; Josh McGuire; the Bocook family of Bill, Josh and Nick; Audie Swartz; Doug Drown; Paul Davis; Kevin Wagner; Paul Harris;
Each MACS event will consist of AFCO Racing Products “Shock the Clock” time trials presented by Sue Stevenson Photography, Malcuit Racing Engines “Dash King” competition presented by Wild Side Custom Racing Trailers; heats are presented by Bud Watson’s W&W Racing Supply/Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic and Hoosier Racing Tires; Lias Tire Racing Division/American Racer; Dave Poske Performance Parts and Rocket Chassis; ATL Fuel Cells and BERT Transmission; Mason Racin’ and GRT Chassis; Frankland Racing Supply and American Die Cast; King’s Jewelry/Artcarved; Pietragallo, Bosick & Gordon, LLC, Attorney’s at Law and Design 500 Racewear; and the Sunoco Race Fuels 1st B Main presented by Bazell Oil as well as the Warrior Race Cars 2nd B Main presented by Goddard Performance Parts. Additionally, the WRISCO Aluminum MACS ROY chase will determine the ROY title. Other sponsor included G&L Racing Supplies and Country Candles. The A Main ASI “Hard Charger” will receive a $100 Gift certificate from ASI Sportswear.
Chase Decals is providing a $100 gift certificate per event for the “Hard Luck” Award. Impact Graphics will be providing $100 gift certificate for the “Quick Time Award” and if that same driver that sets fast time is able to win that night’s feature s/he will earn an additional $100 gift certificate. Chase, Impact, Duralite Wheels, ACPT Carbon Fiber Drive Shafts, Ron “Flea” Fleenor’s Custom Helmet Art will all provide special prizes and gifts to selected drivers in the final driver top ten of points.
