$5,000 to-win at Muskingum County up Next on MACS Schedule

After a three year hiatus, Saturday, August 5 marks the return of the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series to Ronnie Moran’s Muskingum County Speedway, Zanesville, OH for a 50-lap, $5,000 to-win event carrying a $30,500 purse. This show is a complete one-day MACS event featuring the AFCO Racing Products “Shock the Clock” time trails presented by Sue Stevenson Photography. The fast qualifier will receive a $100 gift certificate from Impact Graphics as well as $100 cash from Community Ambulance Service.

Also included in the MACS program will be qualifying heats, the Malcuit Racing Engines “Dash King” competition presented by Wild Side Custom Racing Trailers, as well as the Sunoco Race Fuels 1st B main presented by Bazell Oil, the Goddard Performance Parts 2nd B Main presented by Warrior Race Cars and climaxing the evening with the 50-lap finale. The winner of the feature will also “Spin the Wheel” to see who will be the nights $100 “Spinning Wheel” winner.

All drivers not transferring to the A Main will receive $100.00.

Leading the Series contingent will be defending series champion Mike Balzano, Parkersburg, WV, as well as current point leader Jason Covert. Also anticipated are Steve Shaver; 2005 Champion, Robbie Blair; Jeremy Miller; “Hot Rod” Rod Conley; Jim Bernheisel, 2005 ASI Racewear Hard Charger; 2005 WRISCO Aluminum MACS ROY Devin Friese; Davey Johnson; Dutch Davies; 2002 Series Champion, Jack Pencil; Denny Chamberlain the 97-98 Series Champion; as well as the WRISCO Aluminum MACS Rookie contenders including current point leader, Nick Dickson (PA); Lance Elson (WV); B.A. Malcuit (OH); and D.J. Miller (OH) plus many more.

Muskingum hosts some of central and eastern Ohio’s toughest competition including current points leader “Stormin’” Norm Aronholt; Paul Devoll; Larry Moran; Charlie Maloney; Chad Hina; Roger Eveland; 2004 WRISCO Aluminum MACS ROY, Tye Myers; Jeff Wages; Ryan Twarog; Doug Dodd; Cody Parker; Tracy Fritter; Bob Moskey; Mark Banal; Rick Aukland; Paul Beaschler; Eric Myers; Bart Hartman; Marc Wells; and Rex Frohnapfel.

Muskingum has set the pit gates to open at 4:00 p.m., while spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m. Warm-ups are slated for 5:30 p.m., while the AFCO Racing Products are on tap for 6:00 p.m. Racing is immediately following. Grandstand general admission is $22.00 with children 6-11 $5.00. Pits admission is $35.00. Also appearing on the card will be the Balderson Dodge Modifieds, NAPA Limited Lates, Denny Classic Dinner Pure Stocks, and River View Auto Parts.

MACS FACTS:
The Series has presented five events at Muskingum since it’s very first on July 3, 1999. The inaugural winner was John Wyer. In 2000 Rob House and Tim Hitt shared the spotlight in the two Series stops. The following year Donnie Moran was king as he swept both shows. The final series event occurred on June 22, 2002 with Tim Hitt again coming out on top. The average MACS car count per event at Muskingum is 46.
Current MACS average car count for the season is 48.
The Series has had six different winners in seven events. Jeremy Miller (2), Mike Balzano, Scott Bloomquist, Jason Covert, Scott Haus, Gary Stuhler each claiming one each.

• 183 different drivers have competed in the first seven MACS events this season.
