AlturnaMats® Joins MACS as a Marketing Partner |

The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series is proud to announce AlturnaMats® has joined the Series as a marketing partner for the balance of the 2006 season.
According to Greg Wheeling, AlturnaMats® Sales Manager and spokesperson, “AlturnaMats® ground protection mats virtually eliminate expensive ground restoration costs due to vehicle damage crossing soft terrain. These mats virtually eliminate heavy vehicles from getting stuck in muddy conditions, which can have an excellent application for race teams, especially in the spring and fall when conditions tend to be damp.”
Series President, Andy Geesey interjected, “We are pleased to be starting an arrangement with AlturnaMats® at this point of the season. Michael Gierlach, company owner as well as Greg Wheeling are great supporters of racing and their products have a lot to offer teams, including a clean and dry area to work on their cars when weather conditions are less than ideal.”
Gierlach commented, “AlturnaMats® are the original ground protection mats made of 1/2” thick polyethylene, withstanding 60 ton load, and remarkably are guaranteed for a full six years. They feature a bold diamond plate tread design for maximum traction.”
Jeff Geesey Series PR Director described his thoughts, “We believe in the product so much that we have purchased several AlturnaMats® for ourselves to keep our area around the pit support trailer dry. We also use them in our WildSide Apparel trailer for employee comfort so they aren’t standing on metal floors fro extended periods of time.
AlturnaMats® are available in sizes ranging up to 4’ x 8’ and are ideal for applications in the construction industry as well as landscaping, tree care, cemeteries and a broad range of other applications where vehicles cause terrain damage or have the potential to get stuck.
AlturnaMats® also offers VersaMats®, which are designed for applications for both vehicle and foot traffic. VersaMats® are available in black or white and feature a flat, slip-resistant tread on one side that is safe to walk on without fear of turning an ankle. The other side features the original diamond plate tread for maximum traction. These versatile mats are ideal for areas where workers and vehicles are required to work in mud or soft terrain.
AlturnaMats® line also manufactures a ¼” “light duty” mat for use as temporary pit surface in the racing industry. The ¼” mat is made of the same rugged material but weighs 1/3 less than the ½” mat. These mats are available with a “vers-a-mat” design for a more stable work area.
AlturnaMats® are the perfect replacement for plywood which warps, splinters, and becomes waterlogged. New Turn-a-Links lock the mats together creating a continuous roadway or a large working platform. Predrilled holes permit easy handling at the work site.
