Oval Track Promotions, Rick and Ernie Jones dejectedly were forced to postpone the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series sanctioned Big Kahuna VI at the “The Rock” Allegany County Speedway, Cumberland, MD to Friday and Saturday, November 3 & 4 with the raindate of Sunday, November 5. Thursday, November 2, will be an open-practice night with arm bands from October 5 being honored.

Persistent drizzle started around 1:00 p.m. after the track crew had been working for over two hours on the track. The surface was neither drying out nor ironing in with the on-again, off-again showers continually hampering Jones and his crews’ efforts to get the event in.

“This weather, which was originally forecasted to be great all weekend, has really kicked our butts! We have tried everything we can but just can’t catch a break from the weather this weekend,” concluded Ernie Jones.

“Rick and Ernie are placed in a very difficult position with the weather here this weekend, and from what I can see now, it looks like the best decision possible under these circumstances”, stated Andy Geesey, Series President.

Rick Jones chimed in, “I feel bad that some of these guys have been here for three days and haven’t practiced or raced one lap. I wish there was something I could do, but we are fighting a losing battle with the weather system. We will just hope for better weather in November”, commented Jones.
