MACS Releases First Draft of ’07 Schedule |

The Geesey brothers’ Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) is entering its second decade of operation and has established itself as one of the oldest sanctioning bodies still under the same ownership. “We are pleased to announce the first draft of the 2007 racing schedule”, related Andy Geesey, Series President. “The fans and drivers alike have been clamoring for our schedule since the fall and now the time is here to release the first draft,” stated an enthusiastic Geesey.
“My brother, Jeff, handles the scheduling aspect of the business, and he has been busy working with promoters starting last August attempting to bring our events to a larger audience,” continued Geesey. “At this stage, we have 18 dates, and we are talking to more host facilities about adding additional shows. “Currently, we will be presenting shows at 10 host speedways in four states including Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia”, emphasized Geesey. To-date, the tracks presenting MACS events include, in alphabetical order: Bedford, (PA); Central Pennsylvania Speedway (PA); Challenger Raceway (PA); Eriez Speedway (PA); Hilltop Speedway (OH); Lernerville Speedway (PA); Portsmouth Raceway Park (OH); Skyline Speedway (OH); “The Rock” Alleghany County Speedway (MD); and Virginia Motor Speedway (VA).
“According to Jeff, we aren’t done yet,” Geesey stated. “Other promoters continue to express interest as they ponder the remaining dates available. Tracks interested in securing date(s) for this season are: Clary’s Speedway (NC); Dublin Speedway (NC); Elkins Speedway (WV); Fayetteville Speedway (NC); Georgetown Speedway (DE); KC Raceway (OH); Muskingum County Speedway (OH); New Egypt Speedway (NJ); Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (PA); Roaring Knob (PA); Rocky Top Speedway, (OH); Sharon Speedway (OH); plus several others. We may not add all of those listed, but I think we will be at the majority of them and maybe a few more,” related Geesey.
“The remaining open dates will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. We try to accommodate a promoter’s need but opportunity for picking and choosing is diminishing. Specific details about each event will be forthcoming as the season draws nearer”, summarized Geesey.
This schedule is a first draft and is tentative as well as subject to change or modification. This shouldn’t be taken as the final schedule as more dates will be added.
