Feathers Flies To ‘Bedford MACS Attack 50’ Win At Bedford Speedway

Bedford, PA (July 13, 2007) Bo Feathers has been one of the hottest drivers in the east this season and he proved it with his dominating win in the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) ‘Bedford MACS Attack 50’ at Keifer Motorsports’ Bedford Speedway.

World of Outlaws Late Models Series superstar Rick Eckert and Feathers brought the field to the field to the green flag with Feathers catapulting to the early lead. Feathers pulled away as Eckert and Jeremy Miller battled for the runner-up position. Miller made the pass as local favorite Jeff Rine moved into the fourth spot.

As action started to pick up throughout the field, 2002 MACS Champion Jack Pencil coasted to a stop to bring out the evening’s first caution. The former champion’s night was over with a broken rear axle. When racing resumed Feathers continued to lead with Miller and Eckert in tow. Bo was in total control of the event when the second of six cautions flew when ‘Bedford Brigade’ member Steve Everhart came to a halt in turn four on lap 19.

On the ensuing restart Gary Stuhler, Matt Lux, Rod Conley, Nick Dickson, and D.J. Troutman were involved in an accident which sent Stuhler and Troutman pitside for the remainder of the event.

Feathers again displayed his prowess pulling away from the field again when the feature event resumed. The lead was short-lived however because the fourth caution fell for 2005 MACS Champion Mike Balzano who came to a rest in turn four with a flat right rear tire. When the green waved over the field again it was still Feathers leading Miller and Eckert while 2004 MACS Champion Rob Blair and Ron Delano Jr. battled side-by-side for fourth. Blair was able to hold of Delano’s challenge as 17th starting and 2006 MACS Champion Jason Covert hounded Delano for the fifth position. The strong run for Ron came to a sudden end on lap 28 when his right rear tire went flat bringing out the fifth caution.

The final caution flag flew for the coasting car of another World of Outlaws Regular, Josh Richards on lap 35 and that would be the closest anyone would get to Feathers as he again pulled away from the field. Miller would come home in the second slot with Rick Eckert in third. Covert and Blair battled back and forth for the third spot until Jason was able to make a daring outside move stick coming out of turn four to take third over Blair to round out the top five. Greg Fetters would finish sixth with leading MACS ROY contender Matt Lux in seventh. 15th starting Scott Rhodes finished eighth with 22nd starting Jim Bernheisel and Balzano finished ninth and tenth respectively.
