Hartford, OH (June 21, 2008) Thirty-Nine Mid-Atlantic Championship Series Late Models took time at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH with Bruceton Mills, WV’s Doug Horton stopping the clock at 16.973 seconds to claim fast time in the AlturnaMATSฎ Shock the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media.

The Sharon Speedway support divisions were trackside when a strong burst of winds and extremely dangerous lighting entered the area. Heavy rains mixed in with the other elements forced series and track officials to postpone the event until Saturday, August 23.

The MACS will return to action in two weeks at the Coleman Family’s Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH for two days, Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5. The ‘Weaver Gas and Oil Independence Day 50’ will be held on Friday, July 4 and will pay $5,000 to the winner out of the $30,000 total purse. The following day will be a 75 lap main event dubbed the ‘Pepsi 75’ and will pay a hefty $10,000 to the racer that crosses the line first with a purse well over $40,000. The pit gates for both shows will open at 4pm with the drivers meeting being held at 6pm. Hot Laps will be track side at 6:45pm with the AlturnaMATS Shock the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media following at 7:15pm and racing at 8pm.
