MACS ‘Weaver Gas & Oil Independence Day 50’ at Portsmouth Raceway Park Postponed Until Sunday, July 6th |

Portsmouth, OH (July 4, 2008) A constant and steady rain during the afternoon hours forced Portsmouth Raceway Park and Mid-Atlantic Championship Series officials to postpone the $5,000 to win MACS ‘Weaver Gas & Oil Independence Day 50’ until Sunday, July 6.
A continuous rain throughout the day and with more forecasted for the evening hours made it virtually impossible for the Portsmouth Raceway Park track crew to get the high-banked Southern Ohio speed plant prepared.
The track and Series will be in action tomorrow night Saturday, July 5 for the Stars and Stripes ‘Pepsi 75’ that pays $10,000 to the winner out of a total purse of over $47,000. The ‘Pepsi 75’ will be a full MACS program featuring including AlturnaMATS® Time Trails presented by JNJ Motorsports Media, Heats, the Sunoco Race Fuels B Main presented by Bazell Oil, and the Keizer Aluminum Wheels 2nd B Main presented by Big Shot Performance.
The purse for the Stars and Stripes ‘Pepsi 75’ will be: 1. $10,000; 2. $5,000; 3. $3,000; 4. $2,250; 5. $1,750; 6. $1,250; 7. $1,150; 8. $1,100 9. $1,075; 10. $1,050 11.$1,025; 12. $1,000; 13. $900; 14. $800; 15. $700; 16. $700; 17. $700; 18. $700; 19. $700; 20-24. $700. **All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $200.00.**
The purse for Sunday’s ‘Weaver Gas and Oil Independence Day 50’ is as follows: 1. $5,000; 2. $3,000; 3. $2,000; 4. $1,500; 5. $1,250; 6. $1,150; 7 $1,050; 8. $1,000 9. $850; 10. $700 11. $600; 12. $575; 13. $550; 14. $525; 15. $500;16. $475; 17. $450; 18. $425; 19. $400; 20. $400; 21. $400; 22. $400; 23. $400; 24.$400. All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00.
The pit gates for Saturday will open at 4pm with the drivers meeting being held at 6 pm. Hot Laps will be track side at 6:45pm with the AlturnaMATS Shock the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media following at 7:15 pm and racing at 8pm. For Sunday, July 6 the gates will open at 3pm with hot laps starting at 5pm. The AlturnaMATS Shock the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media will take place at 5:30 with racing slated to start at approximately 6:15.
