Mid-Atlantic Championship Series Announces Alterations To Schedule |

Indiana, PA (August 17, 2008) The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series’ sanctioned ‘Big MACS Attack IV’ at Ryan & Gina Lynn’s Hesston Speedway, Hesston, PA, scheduled for Saturday, August 30 has been cancelled today by the speedway management and will not be rescheduled. Track owner, Ryan Lynn, cited the local declining economy as the sole reason for the cancellation.
In addition, the Series would like to reiterate that the previously scheduled shows on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, October 25 at Jeff Norris’ Hilltop Speedway, Millersburg , OH were cancelled by the track management as a result of the facilities closure. Furthermore, the ‘Triton 50’ that was postponed from June 21 to August 23 at Sharon Speedway, Hartford , OH has been cancelled by the Speedway ’s management and will not be rescheduled. Sharon also cited poor economic conditions as the reason for not honoring the rescheduled raindate. The Speedway also cancelled their WoO Sprint car event scheduled for Mid-September indicating the same reason.
On a positive note, the Series has been involved in negotiations with officials of Keifer Motorsports who promote Bedford Speedway, Bedford, PA for a potential two-day, extra money affair in mid to late September. More details should be available in the near future once all the particulars become available.
The next series event is the Cleveland Brothers Caterpillar ‘Jim Shank Memorial’ presented by Potoka Trucking & Repair on Friday, August 29th at Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway, Sarver , PA . This event is under the watchful eye of the speedway’s promoter Gary Risch, Jr., and carries a $32,000 purse paying $7,000 to win. It is a twin bill also featuring Guy Webb’s All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars.
The purse for the Cleveland Brothers Caterpillar ‘Jim Shank Memorial’ presented by Potoka Trucking & Repair: 1. $7,000; 2. $3,000; 3. $2,000; 4. $1,500; 5. $1,250; 6. $1,100; 7 $1,050; 8. $1,000 9. $850; 10. $700 11.$600; 12. $575; 13. $550; 14. $525; 15. $500; 16. $475; 17. $450; 18. $425; 19-24. $400. All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00
Lernerville’s pit gate will open at 4:00 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 5:00 p.m. Driver’s meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m. with hot laps beginning around 6:45 and Time Trials at 7:00.
